From car park return to the road and turn right. Walk along the verge and cross the road to join a lane towards the coast SW 640 438. Follow the lane down to the car park.
From car park at the coast, turn right onto the coast path. Follow the path which has two steep descents and climbs (There is no barrier protecting walkers from the cliff edge.) Ignore path on the right and follow the coast path as it descends into Portreath. Pass through the gate continue to lane. Turn right then left to follow lane to road SW 653 452.
Turn left onto road and enter the car park ahead. Toilets and refreshments available here. From the car park take exit on the right behind the café, down the steps. Turn left immediately after the pub and head towards the harbour. In the parking area head towards the huts on the left pass in front of the huts and then behind them to join the path alongside the harbour, follow this path to the road. (There is a convenience store on the bend in the road to the left if required) SW 656 452.
Turn right on to Beach Road and when safe to do so, cross the road to take the short connecting road to join Railway Terrace then pass under the bridge and join Glenfeadon Terrace.
At Primrose Terrace SW 659 452 take a sharp turn to the right, signed Mining Trail, and bear right along the footpath to climb through the wooded valley. Zigzag through the farm buildings and turn left at the holiday lodges. Turn right at the metal elephant SW 658 448 keeping the lodges on your right.
When the road veers to the right, follow the footpath straight ahead until you reach the road SW 657 440. Cross the road and enter Tehidy woods alongside the car park.
From East Lodge car park follow the Pine Walk keeping the golf course on your left. Turn left at the notice board, keeping the golf course on your left. At the next junction turn left following the sign to car park. Go through the gate and follow the road until you reach a path on the right signed café / toilets. Follow this path to the visitor centre for toilets / refreshments SW 649 433.
From the Visitor Centre, take the path to right of the car park, following the purple route marker. At junction of paths turn left again following the purple route. Continue along tarmacked path until it turns right, continue straight ahead on woodland path. Follow path alongside the stream until the junction of paths. Turn left signed as Oak Wood. Turn right at marker post and right again at the next marker post following the level path. Follow the path for some distance to the next marker post where again you turn right.
Follow the path then descend the steps to a wooden walkway and cross the bridge over a stream. Immediately cross another bridge, climb the steps and turn left to join the wide path towards Coombe SW 629 424.
On reaching Coombe, turn right along the road. Walk up the hill to the marked footpath on the right opposite Coombe Park SW 627 424. Follow the path through two pairs of field gates.
At the end of the path cross the road and follow the lane towards the car park. Take the footpath exit on the right to re-join the Coast Path SW 625 431.
Follow the Coast Path until you reach the car park where we joined the Coast path originally SW 638 440. Turn right to retrace your steps along the lane. Cross the road and turn right walking along the verge to reach the entrance to the car park.
