The walk is over a mixture of fields, tracks and roads and can be very muddy in places. There are a large number of stiles, most of them stone.

Starting from Sancreed Church (SW 420 293) head NE through the recreation ground and over a coffen stile into the next field.  Continue along the left-hand side of the next field. Turn right and walk across the top of this field and the next. Cross the stile in the corner. The path now goes diagonally across three fields to reach a gate into Treganhoe Farm (when crossing the second field aim for the telegraph pole in the far hedge).

Turn right to walk down the farm track and continue onto the road to Drift. Cross the A30 and continue SE down the road for a further 200 metres to a bend in the road (SW 440 283).

Turn right onto a path leading to a wooded area (boggy in places). Follow the path left and up the hill to Tresvennack. Just before the first building, cross the high stile on the right and walk to the far end of the paddock. Walk down the right-hand side of the next field. In the second field walk across the middle of the field (aiming left of the pole) then continue down the right-hand side of the next four fields to reach Kerris (SW 444 271). (The walk can be cut short here by turning right here and walking along the track through Kerris.)

Turn left onto the road to Sheffield. After 200 metres bear left into a field and walk diagonally across to re-join the road. After just over 200 metres turn right onto a bridleway outside two sides of a large field. Look out for a footpath to the right (SW 452 270). Walk E across three fields and along the right-hand side of two more to reach the B3315.

Turn right and walk S along the road to the far end of the houses on the right. Turn right along a short length of track and then walk SW diagonally across two fields then W along the left-hand side of the next field. (SW 453 266) Turn left and take the path S across a stretch of rough ground, crossing two streams.

Turn right and follow the path to Clodgy Moor. Start along the farm track but follow the footpath sign to leave the track diagonally right and over a stile to a path through gorse bushes. Continue across open ground. (Look out for St Buryan church on the skyline ahead.) The stile is to the left of a telegraph pole. Walk across the middle of the next field, towards woodland. Take the path along the right-hand side of the wood then turn left onto a track. At the end of the track cross a foot bridge and turn right onto a tarmac track. (SW 444 263).

Turn right again and follow the bridleway for about 500 metres to reach a wooded area on the left (SW 444 269). Turn left onto the footpath and follow it N to Kerris. (The path is boggy in places but there are walkways over the worst sections.)  Turn left along the track.

When the track bends to the left (SW 441 271) continue straight ahead, diagonally across one field and along the right-hand side of three fields. Continue downhill on a track to a bridge over a stream. When the track turns left, continue straight ahead, up a steep path then along the right-hand side of a wood. Turn right onto the track into Bojewan’s Farm (SW 433 273)

Take the track through the farmyard and up to the B3283. Turn left and walk along the road for a short distance then turn right over a stile and onto the track to Trenuggo. Turn left and walk past the farmyard then cross the stile on the right to take the footpath NW along the left-hand side of the field. At the end of the field cross the stile on the left and continue up the right-hand side of the next field to the A30.

Turn right and walk along the road, passing the Blind Fiddler standing stone in the field on the left (SW 425 281). After 200 metres turn left onto a bridleway. Before the track cross a stream, turn left to walk alongside the stream, towards Lesbew Farm.

When the path opens out into a wooded area (SW 422 284) turn right and cross the stile.  Walk N along the right-hand side of two fields, across some rough ground and past the farm. Turn right and walk round the field to reach a road. Cross the road (turning right then left) and go up steps to continue up the path, through a wooded area and onto the road into Sancreed.
