The walk is over a mixture of fields, tracks and roads and can be very muddy in places. There are a large number of stiles, most of them stone.
Starting from Sancreed Church (SW 420 293) cross the road and head SSW along the track. Cross a stile and follow the power lines diagonally across the field to another stile.
Passing Chiverton on your left, use the raised grass path onto the gravel drive. At the end of the drive turn right onto the road.
After 130 metres (SW 417 288) turn left at a passing place and take the path S along the left-hand edge of the field and onto the drive at Anjarden. Turn left onto the road. After 25 metres turn right and cross the stream into woodland. Bear left, over a stream and up to a stile.
Go along the left-hand edge of the field, then the right-hand edge of the next field and over a stile onto a road. Go straight ahead and follow the road through Tregonebris Farm. (Stone in wall – see Note 1) The road passes a wooded valley to the left and then a white house. (SW 415 281).
Cross the stile on the left and go straight ahead, across two fields to reach the A30. Cross the road and take the track to Boscawenoon. ** Standing stone in hedge **.
Turn right in the farmyard to take the track SW. Just before a cattle grid fork right onto a path signposted for Boscawen-ûn stone circle (Note 2). After about 90 metres there is a telegraph pole and a wood stone stile (point A).
To visit the stone circle, continue W along the path for ¼ mile to a gate on your left. Return to (A).
Cross the stile and head S along the left side of the field then keep to the right of a ruined barn. Go over the stile ahead of you and continue SW down the middle of the field aiming to the right of St Buryan church. Pass through a gate and bear right to cross a stile 30m ahead.
Follow the grass path down into a wooded valley, cross a stone slab bridge and bear left to the stile. Go along the left-hand edge of the field and over the stile. Turn left and continue round the field to the far corner. Turn left, ignoring the gap in the hedge in the corner and go through the gate about 100m further along the left-hand side. Continue along the right-hand side of this field, over the stile in the corner and then diagonally left across the next field. There is a track between houses (point B) leading to the B3283. (SW 410 259).
Turn right and follow the road into the centre of the village. There’s a shop and public toilets just past St Buryan Church. Return to point (B).
Now go round the left-hand side of the field or walk directly NW across the field to the far corner. Cross the stile and go along the left-hand side of the field to a stile next to an old metal gate. Go diagonally across the small square field.
Continue in a generally N direction along the sides of two more fields. When you reach the stile into the next field (SW 408 267) make for the far corner of the field (to the left of the pump). Again, bear diagonally left to the far corner of the next field. Turn right onto the track to Higher Leah Farm. Turn left on the yard and take the track to the A30.
Turn right onto the A30 and walk uphill for about 150 metres. Just after Myshedra Farm cross the stile on the left. Continue NW across six small fields (keeping to the edges of the fields and using gates where the path and stiles are unclear) then, when reaching a track at Moor Magy, turn right.
Follow the track NNE to join the road (SW 406 282). When the road makes a sharp right turn, continue straight ahead up the track. About 280 metres up this track, where there is a stone cross in the hedge on the left, turn right over a stile.
Go along the right-hand side of the first field and continue straight ahead over the next three fields to Boswarthen, admiring the views over Mounts Bay and the Penwith Peninsula. Continue along the left-hand side of the next two fields and to the left of the buildings ahead.
Cross the track and continue to the left of the buildings into the next field. Go along the left-hand side of the field, keeping left onto a path. At the end of the path cross the stile on the right. Continue NE, passing to the right of Newham Farm.
Go along the right-hand edge of the field and when the hedge turns right continue straight ahead to the far side of the field. (Point C) (SW 418 292).
To visit Sancreed Holy Well turn left and follow the path for about 90 metres and then return to (C).
Continue along the path into Sancreed. Turn right onto the road to return to Sancreed Church.
