Madron Drift, Buryas Bridge

From Madron church turn left and follow the road until it bears left, here find a footpath on the right. Cross over a stile and follow well defined path across two fields, then continue ahead on to track. Continue past the Trengwainton Farm buildings and the field beyond to reach a gate, continue straight across the next field to a stile left of the gate. Take the footpath straight ahead and cross the stream to pass through a wooded area to reach a lane at Boswednan at SW 441 309.
Continue ahead at “Unit 2” and where the lane bears left, carry on straight ahead through the gate and across field to a stile in left-hand hedge. Keep to the right-hand boundary in the field, then the left-hand boundary to reach a gate. Head directly across the next field to a stile then keep to the left-hand boundary to reach a gate.
Turn right on to the road and look for the lane on the left at SW 432 313. Follow the lane past Roskennals Mill through to Roskennals, turn right and pass through gate to follow the path beyond, continue straight ahead and follow this footpath to reach the road at SW 425 304.
Take the footpath opposite and cross the field which leads on to a wide track, in the next field keep to the left-hand hedge to pass through a gate. In the next field head diagonally left to reach a gate and stile. At the road turn right and just after the road bears to the right and find a track on the left. Pass over a stile set between the gates and cross the field keeping to the right-hand hedge. Turn left after the next stile at SW 422 294, in the field keep to the left-hand hedge to a stile in the far corner continue in the same direction in the next field and in the next head diagonally towards the stile next to the wooden electric pole head in the same direction in the next field to a gate by the farm buildings, pass through another gate, which leads behind Treganhoe Farm, turn right on to the track then left, to follow the track to reach the road.
Follow the road ahead to reach Drift. At the cross roads SW 439 285, keep straight ahead.
The following section is often boggy – an easier route is to follow the road through to SW 445 283 and turn left onto the bridleway and, ignoring side paths, follow the path to reach the road at Buryas Bridge.
If the ground is dry, take the following route on footpaths –
When the road bears left, find a lane on the right which leads on to a footpath. Follow this path, ignoring all side paths to find a lane, continue past buildings at Tresvennack, where the lane bears left find a footpath ahead, follow this path, again ignoring all side paths to reach a marker post at SW 446 281. Turn left and follow the path through to the road at SW 445 283 find a bridleway just off to the right and once again ignoring all side paths follow the path to reach the road at Buryas Bridge.
At Buryas Bridge, turn right on to the A30 and then left on to the footpath at SW 448 291, just past the entrance to Trewidden Gardens, Follow this footpath to meet the road just past Tregavarah. Just after the road bears right find a footpath on the left, cross over a stile and cross directly across the field to another stile to meet the Penzance to St Just road at SW 447 302.
Cross the road to find a stile and in the field beyond keep to the left-hand hedge, cross another stile and in the field bear right to a gap in the boundary. Cross the next field keeping to the left-hand hedge, to pass through a gap in the hedge, continue to follow the footpath ahead crossing a stone bridge and stile to join the road. Turn right and then take the road on the right, then find a footpath on the left. Cross the stile and the field beyond to a gap in the boundary, in the next field head for the far right-hand corner to find a short track, in the next field keep to the left-hand hedge to pass through the hedge, then turn right, crossing a stile, then bear right to find another stile.
Cross the field directly ahead to some stone steps, at the top of the steps turn left and cross the field to a gap in the boundary, continuing in the same direction across the next three fields, to join a short track, leading to a fourth field. Cross over the Tremethick Cross to Heamoor road, with a stile on both sides then cross two fields heading towards Madron church in the distance, climb some stone steps and keep to the right-hand hedge in the next field, cross over a stile to return to the start.
