Facing the Inn, take the FP which runs along the left of the building, enter the fields and cross the track to the pig farm, SW 499 369. Enter the pretty lane and at the junction with the bridleway at (South Providence) SW 497 370, turn left and follow it to the road. Notice the bearded lichen hanging from the trees.
Turn right onto the lane past Bolenna, SW 494 369. Walk up the hill past Lower Penderleath Farm until you reach a row of cottages. SW 495 374. Turn left. The FP runs between the cottages and their back gardens and then runs past a stand of bamboo into the valley.
At the stile in the marsh, SW 493 375, take the right-hand path across the marsh into a path between blackthorn bushes to a stile, and then turn right to follow the field boundary, crossing each stile until you come to the road, Coldharbour Lane, SW 493 379.
Turn right. Walk for some 300 yards, passing the drive to Chytodden Farm and take the FP on the left. SW 496 378. The FP follows the RH field boundary through two fields, to a narrow stile beside a large granite pillar to the left of the gate at the bottom. SW 495 382.
Follow the track round to the right, through the wooden gate and then turn left into a lane which runs past horse fields. At the end of the lane, veer left before Higher Bussow Farm and take the stile on the left. SW 495 384.
Walk up the field to a large metal gate opposite the old engine house and go through it. SW 494 385. Head towards the tall stile in the top corner of the field which takes you into an old lane, and then into a small copse behind Chytodden Farm. SW 492 382. The path comes out behind the farm buildings. Cross through the sheep gate and stile and follow the field boundary to the next gate and stile.
Keep to the hedge around this large strangely-shaped field, especially in summer as skylarks nest here. Climb the stile in the far corner. SW 489 381. Follow the path to the road and turn right. SW 488 380. After 70 yards, take the track to the church on the left. SW 487 380. This makes a good lunch stop.
Climb the enormous stile just past the churchyard gate and follow the hedge on the right to the next stile, and then head through the gap in the hedge on the left. SW 484 380. This is part of the Tinners’ Way, a 14 mile route from St Just to St Ives. Walk down the field, climb the stile, and follow the waymarked posts through Sweetwater Farm, past the lakes and over the stream, out to the Georgia Road. SW 483 377.
Turn left. After 350 yards, just before the bridge, turn right to Sillywadden. The path goes through the wooden gate alongside a garden, up some steps and then across horse fields out to the fishing lakes at Lower Amalwhidden. SW 489 373. Turn left. Walk for some 500 yards out to the green at Towednack and turn right.
Just past Coldharbour House, take the FP on the right. SW 490 377. Follow this out to fields, climbing each stile, returning past the marsh to Penderleath. At the road, SW 495 374, turn left and walk up past Chy an Gwel bungalow, to another huge stile.
Follow the path across fields back into the woods around South Providence. This time, at the junction of the FP and Bridleway, turn left near a low wooden bench. SW 497 370. Follow the bridleway up through the gate and then out to the road at Chy-an-Bal. SW 500 371. Turn right and follow the road back to the start point.
